9 years
9 years. today marks the 9th anniversary of the day i stepped off a plane in cleveland & saw karen w/my own eyes for the first time. as readers already know, karen & i had met in a chat room 5 months earlier in april 1995. i walked into the terminal, gazing around to find the person i had only heard & seen in pictures. i finally spot her & i get this nervous/anxious feeling in my stomach. it was kinda awkward meeting even though we probably knew each other better than most people already. she took me to meet her parents. i can only imagine what they thought walking into their house to find this long haired kid w/holey jeans alone w/their daughter. after the few days i spent up here w/her, i went back to huntsville knowing that i was going to be moving after graduation in december. while the past nine years have had their bumps(mostly in the beginning) & separation issues, moving here was the best decision i could have made. i am a better person for leaving it all for her. happy anniversary baby. i love you.
